Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for ADULT ADHD
Fiona who is ADHD’er herself and UMAAP (Understanding & Managing Adult ADHD Programme) Facilitator with ADHD Ireland and half-time lecturer on the Mindfulness-Based Interventions UCD. Fiona has been delivering the Online MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) programme for a number of years and has recently developed this ADAPTED MBCT for ADULT ADHD.
This is an intensive 8-week (2 hour) brain training and emotional resilience programme using sensory, concentration and awareness developing practices. The original MBCT guided home practices are 30 – 45 minutes each day, however Fiona has developed 4 – 14 minute guided meditation practices based on the MBCT programme, based on the evidence–based MBRP (Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention for Substance Mis-Use), which she also teaches. For anyone who has gone through the UMAAP Training it is very aligned to ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), however hardly any slides and very experiential with camera and audio on and not more than 12-15 in a group. The session runs 2 hours per week with an optional and included Sunday Online Retreat day from 11 – 3 pm. There is a daily commitment of 20 minutes invitation for you to engage in these daily experiential activities to support this brain training, emotional resilience and opening up to the moments of your lives.
This programme would be most suited to adults over 25 years of age. If interested, email Fiona on fiodonnellmindfulness@gmail.com and Fiona will send her information video and then Fiona will do a 15 minute pre-course call with you to check if this is the right programme at the right time for you. If you are experiencing high levels of trauma at the moment or a recent bereavement or break-up, we would ask you to wait 6-12 months to engage in this programme.
